Mortgages on homes hit a 16-year record for the month of June after soaring 10.8%.

The number of residential mortgages constituted in Spain increased by 10.8% in June compared to the same month in the previous year, reaching a total of 45,907 loans. This rebound follows a temporary slowdown experienced in May, returning the market to growth and contributing to an overall 7% increase in mortgage lending during the first six months of the year.

According to data released by the National Statistics Institute, the figures for June mark a 16-year high for that specific month, representing the highest volume of housing mortgages recorded in a June since 2010.
