The little-known archaeological gems of Texcoco that have been restored and are less than an hour and a half from Mexico City

The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) has reopened three Acolhua archaeological sites in Texcoco, Mexico, following a comprehensive rehabilitation project. The restoration of Tetzcotzinco, Huexotla, and a third site was completed with an investment exceeding 3.7 million pesos. These locations are now accessible to the public and are situated less than 90 minutes from Mexico City.

These sites represent significant historical remnants of the Acolhua culture. The rehabilitation efforts are intended to preserve these cultural assets and facilitate public access to lesser-known archaeological landmarks in the region.
