Prince Laurent of Belgium has officially recognized his 26-year-old illegitimate son, Clément Vandenkerckhove, through the civil registry.

The formalization of paternity, which took place in February, grants the young man the title of prince as the brother of King Philippe takes this legal step.

Despite receiving the princely title, reports confirm that Clément Vandenkerckhove will not enter the Belgian royal line of succession.
