“Now I will gradually resume my activities”: Pope Leo XIV makes his first public appearance after undergoing lung cancer surgery

Pope Leo XIV made his first public appearance on Sunday following a surgery for lung cancer. Dressed in white and smiling, the pontiff appeared at the window of his study in the Apostolic Palace at noon to lead the Angelus prayer.

The appearance followed his discharge from the hospital on Saturday. During the public address, the Pope thanked the faithful for their prayers regarding his health and stated that he would gradually resume his activities.
