The opposition in Venezuela called for an end to repression and freedom for political prisoners following new releases.

Following a second round of dialogue aimed at Venezuela's democratic transition, human rights organizations reported the release of seven political prisoners on Saturday. The newly freed individuals were identified as Henry Castillo, Gilbert Araña, José Gregorio Valladares, Damián Rojas, Wilfredo Díaz, Juan Lagos, and Wi.

In response to these developments, Dinorah Figuera, head of the opposition's delegation in the transition talks, welcomed the recent excarcelations. Simultaneously, the Venezuelan opposition issued a formal demand for an end to political repression and called for the complete freedom of all remaining political prisoners.
