The Yemeni government announced the start of military operations to retake territories controlled by the Houthis.

Rashad al Alimi, president of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, announced the start of military operations against the Houthi movement. The offensive aims to recover territories currently under rebel control.

The announcement was made following Al Alimi's statement that all peaceful alternatives had been exhausted. The military action comes approximately one month after a preceding offensive launched by the Houthi rebels.
