Likud grants reserved spots on party list to Sa’ar and Katz, expanding PM’s control over its makeup

The Likud party's Central Committee has granted reserved spots on its electoral list to Gideon Sa'ar and Central Committee chair Haim Katz. These placements are in addition to eight spaces that are already reserved for candidates chosen by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

This decision serves to further expand the Prime Minister's control over the composition of the party's list. The inclusion of Sa'ar and Katz secures guaranteed positions for them without needing to compete in the standard primary process.
