Lima 2027 is on the countdown: Simone Biles started the clock one year before the Pan American and Parapan American Games

Lima has officially initiated the countdown to the Lima 2027 Pan American and Parapan American Games with a special ceremony in the capital's central square, where a countdown clock was activated. The event marked the one-year milestone toward the start of the games and featured the presence of participating athletes.

In parallel with the public launch, organizational efforts for the international sporting event have received high-level political backing. Sergio Ludeña Visalot, head of the Peruvian Institute of Sport and the Organizing Committee, held a meeting at the Government Palace with President Keiko Fujimori to reinforce and highlight the importance of the preparations for Lima 2027.
