Lionel Messi has traveled back to Miami with his family following a brief return to his hometown of Rosario, Argentina. The trip home came after Messi and his family spent painful hours mourning and bidding a final farewell to his father, Jorge, who passed away on Saturday at dawn.

The private aircraft carrying the family departed from the Islas Malvinas Airport at 22:53 to take them back to the United States.
