The first deportees from the United States arrive in Haiti

On Thursday, a group of more than 150 Haitian nationals was deported from the United States to Haiti. This arrival marks the first wave of deportations following a recent policy shift by the U.S. administration.

The deportations follow the U.S. government's decision not to renew Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian nationals. This policy change has rendered more than 300,000 Haitians currently residing in the United States undocumented.
