However, this increased integration into digital platforms exposes older populations to distinct vulnerabilities driven by modern algorithmic design and endless scrolling mechanics.

Simultaneously, in Costa Rica, over 1,300 individuals are preparing to address local emergencies with support from Spain. Because institutional aid during disasters such as floods, landslides, and earthquakes can take time to arrive, these community members are trained to act as first responders in their neighborhoods during critical initial periods.
