Ceuta's shopkeepers are asking for security, aid, and a contingency plan due to the closure.

Following a mass irregular entry of migrants from Morocco into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, the Spanish government ordered the deployment of the military to support the Civil Guard. The incident, which resulted in at least nine deaths among individuals attempting to reach the coasts by swimming, prompted significant disruption in the region.

In response to the closures of local businesses resulting from the crisis, the Chamber of Commerce of Ceuta has formally demanded increased security to restore commercial normality. Furthermore, local merchants are urging authorities to provide urgent financial aid and to implement a comprehensive contingency plan.
