Luxury tower 'affordability' claim rejected in landmark court ruling

A landmark court ruling on the Gold Coast has rejected the justification that luxury apartments can exceed height limits on the basis of "housing choice and affordability".

The decision casts doubt over future high-rise approvals in the region by curtailing developers' ability to use affordability claims to bypass zoning restrictions for luxury developments.
