Maduro ally Alex Saab pleads guilty to money laundering in US court

Alex Saab, a close ally of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, has pleaded guilty to money laundering charges in a United States federal court.

As part of his plea agreement, Saab has agreed to cooperate with ongoing U.S. federal investigations and surrender $195 million, an amount derived from the corruption scheme tied to the charges.
