Maharashtra declares drought in 265 talukas; collectors tasked with crop-loss assessment and relief plan

In light of severe rainfall shortages, the Maharashtra government has officially identified 265 talukas as drought-affected. Relief strategies have been put in place, including loan restructuring and land revenue concessions tailored for impacted farmers. District collectors are tasked with evaluating crop damage, utilizing photos and GPS for documentation.

Additionally, temporary exemptions on examination fees for schools and colleges will be implemented, alongside livestock support measures.
