Major pet store chain closing dozens of stores

The battle for pet owners' business is fierce, with a handful of major chains dominating strip malls and shopping centers across the United States. Petco and PetSmart are the largest, with more than 3,000 locations combined. Beyond those two, several smaller retail chains have stores nationwide, including Pet Supplies Plus and EarthWise Pet.
