Majority of Americans oppose public executions: poll

A new YouGov survey reveals that a strong majority of Americans, 71 percent, oppose the public broadcast of executions. Only 18 percent of respondents favored the practice, while 13 percent expressed no opinion.

The poll results emerge ahead of the Pentagon's planned livestreamed execution of Nidal Hasan, a convicted Fort Hood shooter.
