Nayely Altagracia Capellán survived a severe attack in La Vega that nearly cost her life, according to statements from her mother. The incident follows a history of alleged abuse and threats by her partner within a relationship that family members say was marked by ongoing violence.

According to the victim's mother, the family had previously sought legal intervention in 2023, visiting the Fiscalía to report the abuse and successfully obtaining a restraining order against the aggressor. Despite the judicial measure, the relationship persisted and the couple resumed living together following the legal process, preceding the recent near-fatal assault.
