NewzST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A man who police say was on their radar for his alleged involvement in multimillion-dollar heists was fatally shot during a reported confrontation in Claremont near Old Harbour, St Catherine, Tuesday night. Police named him as Shane Clarke, otherwise called “Giant”, a reputed gangster from the Berrydale area on the Manchester/ Clarendon border. Police said about 7:00 pm Clarke engaged cops in a running gun battle in Claremont, St Catherine, when he was fatally shot.
Police said firearms were seized during the incident. Police said Clarke was being investigated as the mastermind behind several robberies on Beryllium Limited, including the August 25, 2023 heist at Scotia Bank in Mandeville, Manchester.
