NewzDemocratic lawmakers are demanding answers after a new whistleblower report details what they call horrific conditions inside of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities in Florida, including one in Miramar. Maxwell Frost shared photographs from the report showing dirty and overflowing restrooms, along with detainees they say are forced to sleep on the concrete floor or in chains.
The report also states, “Whistleblowers warn that, among other abuses, ICE is detaining people, including men, women, families, and elderly people with chronic medical conditions for days to weeks in abusive and life-threatening conditions, including overcrowded cells, prolonged shackling, inadequate access to medical care and hygiene, insufficient food, and limited to no legal access.” Garcia is the ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. He released a statement, which read: “The Trump Administration is trying to cover up these disgusting and unsafe conditions and escape accountability, while countless lives are put in danger. ICE must immediately put an end to this inhumane treatment and give us answers on this horrific situation.” Rep.

Investigators said they were able to identify Bar Alon as the suspect in the case. Alon is now facing three charges of sexual battery on a victim 18 years or older by a person 18 years or older and an additional charge for cocaine possession. As of Monday afternoon, he was being held at the North Broward Bureau jail without bond.
