Man impaled by a hiking pole treks 10 miles down mountain

A man sustained a severe injury after being impaled in the side by a hiking pole on Montana's Granite Peak. Rather than calling for a helicopter rescue, David Cifaldi chose to trek down the mountain on foot.

Despite the extreme nature of the injury and the physical demands of the descent, Cifaldi successfully hiked 10 miles down the mountain with the pole still piercing his side.
