The Florida City Commission voted Tuesday evening to terminate City Manager James Poag, less than a year after he was appointed to the position.The commission voted 3-2 to terminate Poag’s employment, effective immediately.Mayor Charlotte Thompson, Vice Mayor Ronda Cobb and Commissioner Trina Wilborn voted in favor of the termination.Commissioners James Gold and Richard Brown voted against it.No reason for Poag’s termination was included in the information provided by the city Wednesday.According to the city’s website, Poag was appointed Florida City manager in December 2025.
