Man left tetraplegic after unrecognised spinal injury at North Shore Hospital

A 69-year-old man who walked into North Shore Hospital following an e-scooter fall has been left tetraplegic after a spinal fracture went unrecognised and subsequently displaced.

An investigation by the Health and Disability Commissioner (HDC) revealed serious deficiencies in the medical care provided to the patient at the facility, leading to the catastrophic outcome.
