Man shot by US immigration agent describes pain of bullet still inside him

Wilber Rafael Garces Perez, a 28-year-old Venezuelan national, was shot and wounded by a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Texas on Sunday. According to his lawyer and statements made to reporters, Garces Perez was working as a DoorDash delivery driver when an ICE agent rammed his vehicle and shot him.

Following the shooting, Garces Perez was jailed with the bullet still lodged inside his body. He has publicly described the ongoing physical pain caused by the retained projectile as the case draws international media attention regarding the circumstances of his apprehension and subsequent detention.
