Man fled Singapore on fishing boat to avoid jail, caught at Changi Airport more than 20 years later

Tan Khi Wie, a man who fled Singapore via a fishing boat over two decades ago to evade imprisonment, was apprehended at Changi Airport upon his return. Authorities identified him after he attempted to re-enter the country, ending a fugitive status that lasted more than 20 years.

Despite being a wanted individual, investigations revealed that Tan had successfully re-entered Singapore on multiple occasions during his time as a fugitive. He managed to circumvent detection by utilizing Indonesian passports issued under the false identity of Ken Srona.
