Many Venezuelan immigrants shun Florida and turn to smaller cities in Utah, elsewhere

An increasing number of Venezuelan immigrants are choosing to bypass traditional destination hubs like Florida, instead settling in smaller cities and growing suburbs such as those located south of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Transplants to the region note that the mountainous landscape and wide roadways provide an environment and opportunities that cities like Miami are unable to offer. This shift follows the release of one million Venezuelan immigrants into the United States.
