Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi, competing on an Aprilia RS-GP, led the leading group during the opening free practice sessions for the Indonesian MotoGP at the Mandalika circuit.

He was joined at the front of the timesheets by Spanish riders Marc Márquez and Jorge Martín, establishing the early favorites for the Grand Prix weekend.
