Assessment of school buildings for seismic vulnerability

Authorities are launching a comprehensive assessment of educational infrastructure to determine its vulnerability in the event of an earthquake. The initiative involves a broad survey encompassing approximately 8,000 educational structures.

As part of this undertaking, around 6,000 school facilities built prior to the implementation of the current seismic code will be specifically evaluated. Many of these older structures were constructed without prior soil studies, heightening concerns regarding their structural integrity during seismic events.
