NewzKINGSTON, Jamaica — Prices are up at the Coronation Market this week as Jamaica grapples with worsening drought conditions. Shoppers heading to the downtown Kingston landmark should budget to pay higher prices for the likes of lettuce, at $1,000 a pound; tomato ($350); sweet pepper ($450); sweet potato ($250); and carrot ($350). Ripe banana held firm at $1,000 a dozen while Scotch bonnet pepper, at $100 a pound, is among the items that cost less this week.
