The University of Maryland dismissed defensive coordinator Ted Monachino on Sunday. The decision follows a period of poor defensive performance for the football program.
The termination occurred one day after the team surrendered 35 or more points for the fifth consecutive game. This string of defensive struggles contributed to a five-game losing streak for the Terrapins.
