Heavy downpours and strong thunderstorms are forecast for Sunday across widespread areas of the central and northern regions of the Iberian Peninsula. Significant rainfall accumulations are expected particularly in the Cantabrian area.

Barcelona and Girona will experience the most severe conditions, where torrential rainfall intensities are anticipated.
