Medellín is searching for the 39 writers who will define the next decade of Latin American literature

The Hay Festival and the Municipality of Medellín have announced the launch of Medellín39, an initiative designed to identify and select 39 outstanding fiction writers under the age of 40 from across Latin America.

The project aims to highlight the literary figures who will define the region's literature over the coming decade. The complete list of selected authors is scheduled to be officially announced in January 2027.
