In the Dominican Republic, innovative medications for the treatment of obesity and diabetes remain inaccessible to patients despite being officially incorporated into the national Basic Medication List over a year ago. While these drugs are recognized within the public health framework, they have yet to receive effective coverage from health insurance providers (ARS).
