Prague’s growing pizza scene gained international attention after four local restaurants were recognized in the 50 Top Pizza Europa 2026 guide. The biggest success went to Pizza Nuova, which secured 30th place among the best pizzerias in Europe outside Italy. While the restaurant slipped a few places compared with last year’s ranking, it remains the only Czech establishment to appear in the guide’s main European list.
Located near Prague’s Kotva department store, Pizza Nuova has built its reputation on authentic Neapolitan pizza made with premium Italian ingredients. The restaurant also holds certification from the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, an organization that promotes traditional Neapolitan pizza-making standards. Prague’s recognition extended beyond a single restaurant.
Three additional venues received the guide’s Excellent Pizzerias distinction, awarded to restaurants that consistently demonstrate outstanding quality. This year’s recipients are Da Pietro, Sasy The Original, and Diskotéka in Prague’s Dejvice district. Shortly after opening, the restaurant attracted attention for its distinctive interior, centered around a large silver pizza oven designed to resemble a disco ball. Alongside its food, the venue hosts DJ nights and combines a traditional pizzeria with a relaxed social gathering space. Their assessments go well beyond the pizza itself, taking into account ingredient quality, dough preparation, baking technique, service, beverage selection, atmosphere, and the overall dining experience.
