Authorities in Guatemala City, Guatemala, reported that more than one hundred corpses have been discovered abandoned, wrapped in plastic, bedsheets, or sacks during the year 2026.

This method of body disposal has been attributed by investigators to ongoing violent disputes between criminal gangs and other illicit structures operating within the country.
