Miramar’s police chief is praising a 13-year-old girl who fought off a would-be kidnapper.According to police, the security footage taken from a Miramar gas station shows Michael Polanco, 32, and the girl.In video footage, Polanco is seen trying to usher the girl away from the gas station, which is located at 2840 S. “You have a child walking home and suddenly some guy is trying to grab her away,” said Miramar Police Chief Delrish Moss. The video shows the girl fighting to get away, which she did, prompting a witness to all 911.

“She put up a fight, she made a ruckus, she ran to people for safety, and because of that, we were able to get not only a description, but we were able to catch him in rather quick fashion just a few blocks away.”Polanco appeared in a Broward County courtroom earlier this week and was ordered to be held without bond. Authorities said Polanco has a lengthy criminal history that includes robbery, sudden and snatching burglary, felony battery and disorderly conduct, among many of his previous charges. .l10-neighborhood, .l10-neighborhood * { box-sizing: border-box; } .l10-neighborhood{ --blue-dark:#0d2c73; --blue:#1f57c4; --blue-light:#3370e6; --gray-bg:#f2f3f5; --gray-border:#d6d8dc; --text-dark:#1a1a1a; --white:#ffffff; font-family:system-ui,-apple-system,"Segoe UI",Roboto,Arial,sans-serif; max-width:860px; margin:1.5rem auto; border-radius:10px; overflow:hidden; border:1px solid var(--gray-border); background:var(--gray-bg); box-shadow:0 4px 14px rgba(0,0,0,.12); text-align:center; } .l10-head{ background:linear-gradient(90deg,var(--blue-dark),var(--blue)); color:var(--white); padding:12px 16px; font-weight:800; text-transform:uppercase; font-size:1rem; letter-spacing:.3px; display:flex; justify-content:center; align-items:center; gap:8px; } .l10-body{ max-width:740px; margin:0 auto; padding:0 16px 18px; } .l10-sub{ margin:12px 0 10px; font-size:.95rem; color:var(--text-dark); font-weight:500; text-align:center; } .l10-grid{ display:grid; grid-template-columns:1fr; gap:12px; } @media (min-width:600px){ .l10-grid{ grid-template-columns:repeat(3,1fr); } } .nb-btn{ display:grid; place-items:center; text-align:center; line-height:1; width:100%; min-height:48px; padding:10px; border-radius:8px; text-decoration:none; font-weight:800; text-transform:uppercase; font-size:.95rem; background:line…
