Nearly 90 members of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s Urban Search and Rescue team deployed Thursday morning to assist communities expected to be affected by Hurricane Isaias.The 88-member Florida Task Force One (FL-TF1) team was activated as a Type I State of Florida asset in preparation for the storm’s landfall.According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the team departed from its facility in Homestead around 6 a.m. Thursday, with plans to stage in Tallahassee before responding to areas impacted by the storm.The deployment includes four canine teams, along with crews trained in swift-water and flood rescues.Once deployed, team members will be prepared to search damaged areas for survivors, assist with disaster recovery and evaluate storm-related damage.The specialized team is trained in 19 areas of emergency response, including structural assessments, advanced medical care, hazardous materials mitigation, communications and logistics.In addition to searching damaged or collapsed buildings, crews can provide medical assistance to trapped victims, assess potentially dangerous structures and help stabilize buildings that have sustained damage.The team is also equipped with satellite communications systems to assist emergency responders working in disaster zones.Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said members were preparing and securing their equipment ahead of Thursday’s departure to ensure they could respond to the needs of residents and other emergency agencies.Florida Task Force One has a history of responding to major disasters in the U.S. .l10-neighborhood, .l10-neighborhood * { box-sizing: border-box; } .l10-neighborhood{ --blue-dark:#0d2c73; --blue:#1f57c4; --blue-light:#3370e6; --gray-bg:#f2f3f5; --gray-border:#d6d8dc; --text-dark:#1a1a1a; --white:#ffffff; font-family:system-ui,-apple-system,"Segoe UI",Roboto,Arial,sans-se…
