Spain's López, runner-up in the European marathon race walk, finished behind gold medalist Massino Stano

At the European Athletics Championships held in Birmingham, United Kingdom, Spanish athletes Miguel Ángel López and Raquel González secured podium finishes in the marathon race walk event this Saturday. Miguel Ángel López earned the silver medal with a time of 2h56:57, finishing behind the gold medalist, Italy's Massimo Stano.

In the women's competition, Raquel González claimed the bronze medal, completing the distance in 3h14:55. The gold medal in the women's event was awarded to Italy's Sofia Fiorini, with the silver medal going to the Polish representative.
