Spanish women's basketball head coach Miguel Méndez reaffirmed his support for his squad following an 82-73 loss to Mali during the second round of Group A play at the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Despite the defeat, Méndez stated that his confidence in the team remains as high as it was prior to the start of the tournament.
