Minerd clarifies that there are 9,000 students waiting for a place

The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (Minerd) announced on Saturday that approximately 9,000 students nationwide are still awaiting placement in a school space. The statement was issued to clarify and contest a significantly higher figure reported by the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP).

According to Minerd, the teachers' association had previously claimed that around 400,000 students lacked school spots. The Ministry's official statement directly refutes this claim, maintaining that the actual backlog of unplaced students is substantially lower than what was asserted by the ADP.
