Minerd clarifies that there are 9,000 students waiting for a place

The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (Minerd) stated on Saturday that approximately 9,000 students nationwide are currently awaiting school placement. This figure serves as an official clarification regarding the status of student enrollment for the current academic period.

The ministry's statement directly addresses and disputes a prior claim made by the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP), which had suggested that as many as 400,000 students remained without a school space. The ministry maintains that the actual number of pending placements is significantly lower than the figure cited by the teachers' union.
