Minister sheds light on future of Paks II upgrade, motorway concession and “crazy mistake” of Orbán era

Hungarian Transport Minister Dávid Vitézy held a press conference to address the status of several major national infrastructure projects, including the Paks II nuclear plant upgrade and motorway concessions. During the briefing, the minister announced that a comprehensive review of the Paks II project is currently underway to evaluate its future trajectory.

As part of the technical assessment of the nuclear facility, officials identified concerns regarding current water levels, characterizing the situation as an unforeseen event. The minister also touched upon broader administrative and policy issues, referencing past government decisions described as errors during the Orbán era.
