Energy Minister rules out electricity rate adjustment

Minister of Energy and Mines Joel Santos stated that the Dominican government is not currently working on an adjustment to electricity tariffs. The declaration comes in response to concerns regarding the National Multi-Year Public Sector Plan for 2025-2028, which includes a tariff adjustment among its recommendations.

While the official plan suggests a potential review of electricity rates, Santos clarified that no such measure is being actively pursued at this time. The government maintains its current position despite the inclusion of the recommendation in the multi-year planning document.
