NewzSAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The Miss Universe Organization has reaffirmed its continued support for Dr Gabrielle Henry, Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, and its commitment to the safety and well-being of its delegates following her accident during the 74th Miss Universe competition in Thailand. According to a release from the organisation, it is aware of recent media reports regarding legal action related to the incident, but has not been formally served with the complaint and remains open to dialogue. READ: Dr Gabrielle Henry sues Miss Universe organisation over 2025 fall According to María José Unda, vice-president of international affairs for the Miss Universe Organization, responsibility for the production of the 74th Miss Universe competition in Thailand, including the venue, stage and on-site safety, rested with the local host and production entities, Miss Grand International (MGI) and Miss Universe Thailand, under the direction of Nawat Itsaragrisil.
However, following Henry’s accident, the Miss Universe Organization said it immediately stepped in to ensure that she received the care and support she needed. The organisation said it ensured Henry had access to medical care, including specialised physicians and treatment, and covered her hospital, medical and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand. It also covered accommodation and living expenses for members of her family who remained with her during her hospitalisation, and arranged and covered her medically escorted return to Jamaica.
These efforts were documented in a joint statement issued by the Miss Universe Organization and Henry’s family on December 8, 2025, which outlined the medical, financial and logistical support provided following the accident.
