Modern scanner to transform cargo handling at Fumba Port

The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has announced plans to install a modern cargo scanner at Fumba Port in Unguja, Zanzibar. Commissioner General Yusuph Mwenda confirmed the initiative during a site visit, noting that the technology is intended to streamline and improve the inspection process for goods entering the country from international locations.

The implementation of this scanning technology is expected to transform cargo handling operations at the port. By upgrading inspection capabilities, the authority aims to enhance the efficiency and oversight of imports arriving at the Zanzibar facility.
