area Monday, with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. A few storms could become strong to severe, with damaging wind gusts the primary threat. The Storm Prediction Center places most of the D.C.
region under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather. A strong cold front moving through the D.C. area Tuesday will bring a greater chance for showers and thunderstorms, some of which could become severe with damaging winds and heavy rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.
