Spanish Health Minister Mónica García stated on Sunday in Ceuta that the region is not experiencing a health system collapse due to the migration crisis, while acknowledging that certain areas—particularly emergency departments, internal medicine, surgical wards, and primary care—face significant strain. Speaking on the situation, she noted that hospital occupancy stands at approximately 50 percent and reported that 5,800 migrants have received medical attention during the crisis.

In addition to addressing the state of local medical facilities, García assured that the central government will actively address potential health and sanitation risks in Ceuta. The remarks come as authorities manage the ongoing humanitarian and migration pressures affecting the local healthcare infrastructure.
