More cases of parasitic screwworm confirmed. Here's who is at risk, where it's spreading

Additional cases of the parasitic screwworm have been confirmed, raising concerns about who is currently at risk and where the infestation is spreading.

Screwworm flies are capable of laying eggs on any warm-blooded animal, including humans. Once laid, these eggs hatch into parasitic larvae, commonly known as maggots, which feed on the surrounding living flesh as they burrow deeper into the host.
