More Summerland residents allowed home as Bald Range fire grows to 24,000 hectares

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen has downgraded evacuation orders to alerts for nearly the entire community of Summerland, allowing most residents to return home.

This decision comes as the Bald Range wildfire continues to grow, expanding to approximately 24,000 hectares. While the majority of the local area is now under the less restrictive evacuation alert, the Garnet Valley area remains under an active evacuation order.
