British police try to track down theft of 70,000 pints worth of Guinness stout

British police are searching for thieves who stole more than 70,000 pints of Guinness from a depot in Cheshire, northwest England. Two trailer truckloads containing approximately 800 barrels of the dark stout, valued at 115,000 pounds or roughly $155,000, were taken after lorries were driven into an industrial estate in Runcorn.

The Cheshire Constabulary is investigating the theft of the iconic Irish stout. The incident has drawn lighthearted remarks from authorities, with police noting that the famous historical advertising tagline "Guinness is good for you" only applies when the product is legally purchased.
